Please note: This schedule is subject to change. There are fees associated with participation in all major productions at Vonder Haar Center for the Performing Arts. Once a contract of participation has been signed, there are no refunds even if the performer withdraws from the show or loses a part due to irregular attendance, unwillingness or inability to learn choreography, or behavioral issues. February Arts Festival The annual February Arts Festival, scheduled the last week-end in February, is a celebration of the performing and visual arts. All of the resident companies perform. In addition, members of the Ballet Companies, Musical Theatre Ensemble, Tap Companies and advanced voice, acting and music students are given the opportunity to work one-on-one with a choreographer/director and to perform a solo specifically chosen and/or choreographed for them. This affords a tremendous opportunity for growth both for those students who have had the opportunity to solo before and for those who have not yet done so. Soloists will have a total of four rehearsal hours scheduled at the mutual convenience of the dancer and the choreographer/director. The fee will include the cost of the choreographer/director, rehearsals, costume rental, and performance space. Student Choreography Project Student Choreography Project affords interested students the opportunity to choreograph, costume, and produce a piece for a showcase performance. This is an invaluable learning experience for budding young choreographers, who must keep a journal of the entire process which is then made available to the Vonder Haar Center community. |
